How to Fix Pesky Google Search Console “Issues”
Have you ever received a message from the Google Search Console team in your inbox leading you to worry that your website is broken?
The top “issues” found on Google Search Console:
Content wider than screen
Clickable elements too close together
Text too small to read
Indexed, though blocked by robots.txt
Not found (404)
These emails can sometimes feel like an urgent 911 emergency, but before you put yourself in an email queue for support, rest assured these “issues” are actually just suggestions sent from a fallible robot.
Google Search Console continuously monitors and reads your website to not only index it on Google, but deliver monthly performance reports.
Just like us mere mortals, this robot occasionally makes a mistake — and most “issues” are resolved after initiating a fix.

Step 1: Click the “Fix Mobile Usability issues” button on the GSC email.
Take a moment to read what “issues” were detected by Google. From there click the button to initiate a fix. It is currently blue.
Step 2: Click the “Pages” tab and navigate to the “Validate Fix” button.
Google will direct you to the GSC dashboard to learn about what pages are affected on your website.
It’s likely you’ll land on their Mobile Usability Report and see a banner — they’re retiring this test soon.
Make sure to visit “Pages” on the left column and click the grey “Validate Fix” button for each issue listed. This will tell the robots on Google’s side that you have reviewed the recommendations and that no further action is needed.
Step 3: Let it go!✨
Once your validation is complete, you can simply archive the email.
