About Dr. Emily Smokovich
Dr. Emily Smokovich has been praised as a “brilliant” and “mesmerizing” mezzo-soprano (IDS).
Originally from Grand Rapids, Michigan, Dr. Smokovich began her piano studies at age five and voice lessons at age 15. She completed her Bachelors of Music and Masters of Music at the prestigious Jacobs School of Music at Indiana University and went on to receive her Doctorate at the University of Michigan.
Performance highlights include Margaret Johnson in The Light in the Piazza (collegiate premiere), Annina in Der Rosenkavalier, Princess Clarissa in Prokofiev: The Love for Three Oranges, and Hodel in Fiddler on the Roof. She also directed and music directed Little Women.
